TrackTrip (“we”, “our”, “us”) is a school and fleet trip tracking application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data securely and responsibly.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

We collect basic profile details such as your name, phone number, and associated organization to create your account and allow trip assignment.

1.2 Location Data

Location is collected only when a trip is active to show real-time vehicle movement and ensure passenger safety.

• Foreground Location: Used while the app is open.
• Background Location: Used only during an active trip — even when the app is closed or running in the background.

If no trip is active, location is not collected.

1.3 Camera Access

The camera is used only to scan QR codes for starting or verifying trips. We do not record, store, or upload photos or video. The camera is never used in the background.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your information only to:

• Provide real-time trip tracking
• Show trip history and analytics
• Notify relevant users (such as parents or managers) when a trip starts or ends

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. Limited sharing may occur with service providers like:

• Google Firebase (authentication)
• Google Maps / MapLibre (map display)
• Google AdMob (optional ads, anonymized usage)

4. Data Retention

Trip location history is retained only for operational and safety purposes and may be deleted upon request.

5. Your Choices

• You can disable location anytime — however, this will stop trip tracking.
• You may request account and data deletion by contacting us.
